LMS OST Network Items:
The Literacy Mid-South Out-of-School Time (OST) Network is a collaborative initiative designed to enhance reading proficiency among elementary students in Shelby County, Tennessee. This network brings together a diverse group of community organizations. Through the deployment of reading interventions, support services in after-school and summer programs, and community engagement efforts, the OST Network strives to improve literacy outcomes for young learners.
Through this collaborative network, Literacy Mid-South aims to make a lasting impact on the educational landscape of Shelby County by equipping organizations with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to promote literacy and reading proficiency among elementary students.
Key Features:
Monthly meetings for members to connect, share strategies, plan programming, and engage in continuous quality improvement.
Emphasis on leveraging the unique talents and resources of each member, including deep community connections, cultural competence, access to schools, and more.
